The year 2020 is a year full of complicated and unpredictable situations, when the Covid-19 epidemic has basically just been successfully controlled, these days, the long and continuous heavy rains have affected heavily in some central provinces, especially in Thua Thien Hue and Quang Tri, floods have exceeded the historic flood levels (total rainfall in some places is nearly 3,000mm).
The floods was caused seriously, many residential areas were divided and isolated, seriously affecting the properties and lives of over 135,000 households in over 200 communes and wards of 5 provinces, cities (Thua Thien Hue, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam and Da Nang).
By the evening of October 18, floods and rains left over 122 people dead and missing, many still lost contact; Nearly 600 houses collapsed, swept away. Many transportation and irrigation infrastructure works were eroded, buried, tens of thousands of hectares of rice, crops and aquaculture were badly damaged.
In particular, serious landslides in Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri have caused great human damage, causing many workers at Rao Trang 3 hydropower plant to be injured, lost contact, officers and soldiers participating in the rescue.
Before that situation, VBG Investment Joint Stock Company called on all employees to join hands to support the Central region. This is a noble gesture, expressing the tradition of "United we stand, divided we fall", "The leaves protect tattered ones" of the nation. The total donation fund of VBG Investment Joint Stock Company is 19,100,000 VND (Nineteen million one hundred thousand VND), of which VBG Investment Joint Stock Company donates 10,000,000 VND (Ten million VND), and all employees donated 9,100,000 VND (Nine million one hundred thousand VND).
